Cherry Blossoms

According to the calendar, it is "Winter" in Northern California, but the weather has been unseasonably warm according to the talking weather heads.

Since it is Winter, most of the trees have been pretty barren thus far.  This morning on the way to work, I noticed the blooms on the cherry Sakura trees for the first time.  Our friend Emily mentioned that the trees would start blooming soon and mentioned how amazing they are in full bloom.

Based on a cursory search, I'm guessing that full bloom is the beginning of April as that is when the annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival happens.

Not knowing what a cherry Sakura tree looks like, I had no clue until this morning how many were in my path each day.  Cherry Sakura trees line a good part of our street and are all over the office park where I work.

These pictures were taken outside my building.

The trees themselves aren't very impressive yet as the blooms are just starting to fill in.
